Answer A: test your comments here
The thread count is off for me (a regular user), but it's not about deleted comments. I don't know what the issue is. On this question: says 8 comment threads But when I expand it I see this: 9 regular + 1 archived That's ten threads, and even if it's failing to count the archived one...

Comment Post #64 There was a Post Feedback thread, and now it's deleted. What will happen when I, a non-moderator, submit this flag?

Comment Post #72 Small regression: if I start to add a comment to a thread and then change my mind, there's no "discard" option. (Haven't tested with edits.) While the textbox at the end of the thread is always present, the button state changes from gray to blue when you've met the minimum length. If you delete it...

Comment Post #72 "Follow" works for moderators but not for regular users. Mods also have a "tools" link right next to "follow", and I wonder if that's related. (38 minutes later: how long do I have to edit comments? I guess that was true before too?)

Comment Post #67 This is cool. This comment thread isn't visible to the public but is to me. I wonder if I can ping someone else into it like @Art or @Monica?

Question testing flags, and needs to be 15 characters
This is a dummy post so that somebody else can flag it for author attention so I can see what that looks like. La la la.

Comment Post #64 Hi there Art! Flagging for author attention is cool and I want to see how it works, so you win some more pings. :-)

Comment Post #64 Apparently posting a comment auto-follows the thread; I just got several pings from @#9. Let's consider one of those dismissible "FYI" notices the first time this happens to someone, pointing out the "unfollow" link. Also, could we collapse notifications from a single thread into one notification...

Answer A: test your comments here
When you first view threads, you get the counts for each, like this: "7 comments" / "1 comment" However, if I expand the first one, I get the first five comments and a link but I lose the total count: thread Could we include either the "7 comments" that was originally there or "2 more com...

Comment Post #64 That was it; I saw everything through the "saw all four" comment, but not "comment number 6" until I clicked through.

Comment Post #64 Saw all four; let's try five. I'm going to guess that the magic number is actually six, which I think is the cutoff for collapsing on the main branch.

Comment Post #64 How many comments can you post before the preview cuts off?

Comment Post #64 When I clicked on this thread it told me "This is just a preview; you can see the whole thread." But I was, at the time, looking at the entire thread; it was just that one comment and it was complete. We might want to save the "preview" language for cases where there really is more to see. (The l...

Comment Post #64 Welcome to Codidact! Could you clarify what you mean by (blah blah blah)? If this were an actual comment I would go into more detail here, but as it is, I'm just typing some stuff to fill up a little more of the textbox, and also trying some ##formatting to see what happens.
